Flies don't fly into the room equally through all holes. For example:

• Doors/windows close to external sources of “lure” (scraps stockpiles) are most vulnerable
• Doors/windows/ventilation ducts, through which go out smells are in the second place vulnerable to insects
• Doors/windows which are often opened and closed are in the third place vulnerable to insects
• Doors/windows at sunny side attract more insects
• Other holes should also be considered as a potential source of penetration by insects  

Not all flies are equally attracted by the same stimulants, for example:

• Males are more attracted by pheromones than females
• “Hungry” flies are more sensitive to smells of food than satiated ones.
• Satiated flies are more sensitive to light than to smells
• Older insects are more attracted by sexual lures than by any other else
• Older insects are more attracted by possible landing areas (looking for a companion)
• Flies become less active by night , even when the light is switched on
• Insect traps are more effective during the day than night
